I was pleased that some of the material I wrote during the 1980's has been preserved on your site. My whole objective was to enlighten people of the amazing windmills that once stood in the Soke. You have achieved that and thank you for acknowledging the book.

Hi there, my Great Grandparents, lived in Eye, and are buried in the cemetry, .They were Matthew and Maryann Norman, my grandmother was Annie Norman. I noticed an entry by Jenny Sharpe, regarding grandfather James Sharpe, a butcher in Eye, and think there may be a connection with me. Pauline.

Have enjoyed reading about Eye on your site. My great great great grandparents Joseph and Elizabeth Phillips lived in Eye in the 1800s. They had ten children but sadly five of these died in infancy. Four of these five died within a few days of each in March/April 1828. It would seem likey that they would have all died of the same illness and wondered whether there were any records of an outbreak of a childhood illness in the village at this time.

I am looking into the the history of the old Northam Star Sports football team, and its links to the Eye village football teams. I'd be very grateful for any information anyone has, or any pointers to where I might be able to find information. So far, research at the library in Peterborough has been a little bit like looking for a needle in field full of haystacks, so I'd be very keen to hear from former players or officials of Northam Star, or their families. The aim with this research is to eventually compile a full history from the Eye village football side in 1905, if the links through to Northam Star Sports can be confirmed, onward to the present Peterborough Northern Star team Many thanks in advance.
